SOL #1

Fellow Slicers!!!!

Today is day one of what I hope to be 31 days of writing!  I'm not sure if I'll make it, but I'm going to try SUPER HARD!!!!

A little about me....

I'm going on my 17th year of teaching.  :)  About 4 years ago our principal departmentalized us, so I get the joy of teaching writing to about 60 first graders every day!  I L.O.V.E. it more than I loved teaching in a self-contained classroom.
I'm a wife and a mother to three beautiful brown-eyed girls.  I love to workout and running is my passion.  Unfortunately, right now the mind is willing, but the body is weak. I coach volleyball and swim team, not at the same time right now.  :)

This pic is a little old, but I LOVE it!

I can't wait to get to know you better!!!!
From my Brown eyes to yours...

I wish I loved working out like you spoke of...I know that it is important, but I just can't make my mind become willing!!!!

  2. What a lovely introduction you made. I've never heard of departmentalized first grade, but I'm intrigued!

Adorable (albeit an older) pic of your brown-eyed girls. They're adorable.

    Welcome to slicing!

  3. Such cute brown eyes! What a fun time you must have writing with first graders all day long. I'm a bit shocked that first grade is departmentalized. I hope you write more about it. Welcome to the slicing world!

  7. I am also embarking on the SOLC for the first time. I teach grade 2, love teaching writing and also love to run. I have been teaching for about 15 years. I look forward this month together.
