Dinner at 9:15 pm.... Acceptable, right?

Today was a busy day.  This is my normal Monday and Wednesday, but today was different because I had to help out.  I coach swim team from 5-6 on both days.  I also coach for an hour on Saturday mornings.  It's a nice little gig.  They pay me AND I get a free gym membership for my family (which my girls and I use to its fullest).  But tonight, I had to help the 6-7 shift and then we had a meeting about summer swim team. Hence why dinner was at 9:15 for me tonight. :( Summer swim team is going to be new for us.  It's exciting, BUT..... it's a commitment too.  I'm having mixed feelings.  I want to do it because I love that we get other perks.  I love the people I work with.  I'm thinking I can do one hour a day for five days a week, right?  I don't know.  Is that fair to my girls?  I don't know.  We would be at the gym anyway because I work out in the summer each day too.  UGH! Mommy guilt.  It's better practices will be in the morning, so I'm free every evening for their activities. I don't know.  I'll pray about this for sure. And my husband, we'll talk.  We'll choose what's best for our family.
What do you think?  I need help.

  1. Will the responsibilities allow you time to recharge and relax? What do the kids think?

    1. I never thought to ask our kids. That's a great idea!

  2. I recently apologized to my 17 and 19 year old daughters for being very overcommitted to teaching. They told me I didn't need to apologize - they knew they were more important than my students. I'm sure you will make the right decision for you.

    1. You are right. My family is always more important. It's hard to see if this is my plan or His plan for me.

P.S. Thank you for the sweet words on my post. I'm so glad God connected us through the Slice of Life challenge!
