Tomorrow is my brother's birthday. Currently, he's overseas serving our country I'm not sure where. So today I sent him an email with the birthday song we sang when I was growing up. We hardly sing it anymore because we typically have "friend" parties now and so the song is usually simple and sweet. Just typing the words to this song brought back so many happy memories for me. There is just something special about this birthday song. In my mind, when I close my eyes, I can see (and hear) my whole family singing it. My grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles, cousins, mom, dad, sisters, and brother. It was always a full house at parties and everyone sang it. And when it was sung to you, you felt important. If felt like this song was made just for you. I have only heard one other version of this song when we were at a party last year. It was a little different, but had similar parts.
